Water Resources Scientist at SWCA

Lily Wetterlin has extensive experience in environmental sciences and research. Lily currently works as a Water Resources Scientist at SWCA Environmental Consultants, where they started in June 2023. Prior to this, Lily worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in Watershed Sciences at Utah State University, starting in September 2021. Lily also has experience as an Environmental Specialist and Field Coordinator at SWCA Environmental Consultants, where they worked from March 2020 to September 2021.

Before that, Lily was a Lead Research Associate at Salt Lake Community College from June 2019 to March 2020, where they supervised undergraduate research students and worked on various environmental geoscience projects, focusing on water quality and soil contamination.

Earlier in their career, Lily worked as a Geotechnician at High Power Exploration from April 2018 to September 2018. Lily also had research roles as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Geology and Geophysics Department at the University of Utah from October 2015 to May 2018, and as a Soil & Water Quality Lab Technician at the Urban Ecology Lab at the University of Utah from August 2016 to January 2017.

Lily's research experience includes being a fellow at iUTAH, where they developed and studied the efficiencies of water and nitrogen cycling of urban trees in the Salt Lake Valley from May 2016 to August 2016. Lily was also a member of the Sustainability Leadership Committee at the Environmental & Sustainability Program at the University of Utah from August 2015 to December 2017, where they planned panel discussions, environmental film screenings, and facilitated an annual fundraiser for student scholarships. Overall, Lily Wetterlin has contributed significantly to environmental research and has expertise in water resources and sustainability.

Lily Wetterlin began their education in 2013 at the University of Utah, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Geological and Earth Sciences/Geosciences. During their undergraduate studies, they also obtained a second Bachelor's degree in Environmental & Sustainability Studies. Lily completed their Bachelor's degrees in 2018.

In 2021, Lily furthered their education at Utah State University, where they are currently pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in Watershed Science. Their expected graduation year is 2023.

Additionally, Lily Wetterlin has obtained certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid from the American Red Cross in April 2021. It is also stated that they have completed XRF Radiation Safety Training, but there is no information provided regarding the institution or the specific timeframe for obtaining this certification.
