Matthew McMillan

Biologist at SWCA

Matthew McMillan began their work experience as a Research Technician at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2002. In this role, they conducted various research projects related to desert tortoise populations, including line distance sampling and radio telemetry. Matthew also created topographic maps using ArcGIS and conducted vegetation sampling. McMillan worked under the U.S. Clark County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan.

In 2005, McMillan joined SWCA Environmental Consultants as a Biologist. In this role, they served as the Natural Resources Director in the Austin office. McMillan conducted natural resource studies, including surveys for threatened and endangered species, wetland delineations, and habitat restoration. Matthew completed environmental assessments, supervised field crews, and assisted with data organization and report preparation for private, federal, state, and local clients. Matthew'swork spanned multiple states, including Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Matthew McMillan attended Silver High School, though the exact dates of their enrollment are unknown. Following their high school education, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology at New Mexico State University from 1990 to 1995. Matthew furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biological Sciences from The University of Texas at El Paso, where they studied from 1995 to 2002.
