Knut Espen Skaug has a diverse work experience that spans over two decades. Knut Espen started their career in the Norwegian Army, where they served as a Sergeant/Cannon Commander from 1997 to 1998.

After their military service, Knut entered the pharmaceutical industry and joined Novartis in 2003 as a Sales Representative/Sales Coach, specializing in Cardiovascular products. Over the years, they held various roles at Novartis, including Product Specialist in Oncology/Hematology, Brand Manager in Oncology, Franchise Lead for Solid Tumors, and Brand Leader for Europe in Novartis Oncology. Knut Espen also served as the Associate Director of Global Product Strategy for Novartis Oncology, handling the Breast Cancer portfolio and leading pre-launch activities for Breast Cancer HER2 and Afinitor Breast Cancer HER2+.

In 2014, Knut joined Alexion Pharmaceuticals as a Global Brand Director and was responsible for brand management for the company. After four years, they moved to LEO Pharma in 2018, where they held multiple senior leadership roles. Knut Espen served as the Global Marketing Director for Eczema-Dermatology, leading the marketing strategies globally. Knut Espen then became the Senior Director for Global HCP Lead, Eczema-Dermatology, overseeing teams in key international markets and mentoring two direct reports. In their most recent role at LEO Pharma, Knut was the Senior Director, responsible for U.S. Promo Medical Education & Congress Strategy.

Knut's career is set to continue at Sobi - Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (publ), as they are currently the Commercial Lead for Europe, a role they began in February 2023.

Knut Espen Skaug has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, Finance, and Management Information Systems from Boston College Carroll School of Management. Knut Espen has also obtained a Pharmaceutical Qualification Diploma from the University of Oslo. Additionally, they have studied Marketing at BI Norwegian Business School.
