Marwan Alaydi

Vice President, Energy Storage And Technology at Swift Current Energy

Marwan Alaydi has extensive work experience in the renewable energy sector. Marwan is currently serving as the Senior Director of Energy Storage and Analytics at Swift Current Energy since September 2022. Prior to this, they worked at EDP Renewables as the Global Head of Energy Storage - Technical from June 2022 to September 2022 and as an Associate Director of Energy Storage from March 2021 to June 2022. Before that, they held roles at Peak Power Inc as the Director of Energy Storage from January 2020 to March 2021 and as a Project Manager of Energy Storage from July 2018 to January 2020. Marwan also worked at CSA Group as a Project Manager of Renewable Energy from 2017 to 2018. Furthermore, they gained experience at Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. as an Electrical Manager from October 2014 to September 2017 and as a Project Engineer from October 2013 to October 2014. Marwan began their career as an Electrical Engineering Intern at Toronto Hydro in 2011.

Marwan Alaydi has a Bachelor of Applied Science & Engineering (BASc) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto, with a minor in Engineering Business. Marwan then pursued a Master of Engineering and Public Policy (MEPP) degree in Engineering from McMaster University. Additionally, they obtained an Engineering Business Minor from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management.

Marwan Alaydi has also obtained several certifications, including a Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification from the Project Management Institute. Marwan is also a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certified by Professional Engineers Ontario. Marwan holds certifications in Utility Work Protection Code (UWPC), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Electrical Safety Awareness - High Voltage, Microsoft Project for Construction, Basics of Supervising, and First Aid CPR + AED. The institutions from which they obtained these certifications include the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA), Project Management Institute, ES Computer Training, and St. John Ambulance Ontario.
