Sandip Balakrishnan

Sandip Balakrishnan is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in procurement, supply chain management, and new business initiatives across the food and retail sectors. Currently serving as the Director of New Business Initiative & Supply Chain at Swiggy since September 2022, Sandip is focused on strategic business development and partnerships. Prior roles include Head of Procurement at iD Fresh Food, where significant procurement strategies were implemented for a leading fresh food brand, and Head of Procurement at Double Horse, managing both national and international purchasing. Sandip began their career in retail management at Aditya Birla Retail and Foodworld Supermarkets, overseeing buying and merchandising operations, and has a strong foundation in agricultural procurement from an earlier position at NAFED. Sandip holds a range of academic credentials, including an MBA from Vaikunth Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management and a degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.
