Nelson Mitchell is a professional with diversified work experience. Nelson is currently the Head of Product / Co-Founder at Swing Therapeutics, Inc., a company focused on developing digital therapeutics for people with chronic conditions. Nelson leads a team of scientists, clinicians, and technologists to create evidence-based transformative digital treatments that empower patients.

Prior to Swing Therapeutics, Nelson worked at Slalom Consulting, starting as a Consultant in Experience Design. Nelson played a key role in establishing the design discipline within the consulting team, designing wireframes, conducting user research, and providing visual design services. Eventually, they became the Manager of the Experience Design team, leading design sprints, facilitating staffing, and providing coaching and mentoring for their direct reports. Later, they became the Practice Lead of Experience Design, where they oversaw the team of user experience designers and researchers, focusing on bringing human-centered products and services to life.

Before Slalom Consulting, Nelson was self-employed as an Independent Designer, Consultant, and Graduate Student. During this time, they provided graphic and interactive design services to various clients while attending graduate school.

Earlier in their career, Nelson worked as a Marketing, Sales, and Operations professional at Gizmo Art Production, Inc., a San Francisco-based exhibit design-build firm. Nelson managed marketing efforts and supported sales, operations, and organizational strategy.

In 2006, Nelson took a sabbatical and embarked on a nine-month exploration of Central and South America. Nelson traveled extensively through fourteen countries, which proved to be a transformative experience.

Nelson's earlier work experience includes roles as a Senior Consultant at Trianz and an Analyst at Accenture.

Nelson Mitchell holds a Master of Arts degree in Industrial Arts with a focus on Product Design from San Francisco State University. Nelson also has two Bachelor of Arts degrees from Michigan State University, one in Finance and the other in Economics. Additionally, they have pursued studies in Economics at the University of Oxford. In 2014, Nelson attended General Assembly, where they undertook a course in Product Management.
