Carmen Procida

Semiconductor Process Engineer at SWIR Vision Systems

Carmen Procida began their professional career in 2011 as a Youth Staff Member for Youth Empowered Solutions (YES!). In this role, they spoke with local and state government representatives, wrote letters to the editor and other pieces for The Mountain Xpress, Asheville-Citizen Times, and Huffington Post, and created materials and led trainings about food access and tobacco prevention. In 2018, they became an Undergraduate Staff Member at the NC State Nanofabrication Facility. Most recently, in 2020, they joined SWIR Vision Systems as a Semiconductor Process Engineer.

Carmen Procida attended Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College from 2011 to 2016, where they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.). Carmen then attended North Carolina State University from 2016 to 2020, where they earned a degree in Materials Science and Engineering with a concentration in Biomaterials and a minor in Nanoscience & Technology.
