Seng Hock Lim

Seng Hock Lim has a diverse range of work experience in various roles related to technology governance, assurance, and administration. Seng Hock started their career in 1997 as an Analyst Programmer at Overseas Assurance Corporation (M) Bhd, where they managed system operations and workflows. Seng Hock then worked as an Information Architect at Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Berhad, where they created and monitored user access to Oracle databases.

In 2005, Seng Hock joined AIG Software International JV as a System Engineer - Database, providing continuous DBA support for Oracle databases. Seng Hock later worked at Great Eastern Life (Malaysia) as a Database Administrator, responsible for crisis management, recovery, and maintenance of Oracle databases.

Moving on to United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad in 2008, Seng Hock served as a Technology Auditor, performing IT audits to identify control issues impacting business. Seng Hock also took on the role of Database & SAN Storage Administrator, handling database administration and management.

In 2015, Seng Hock joined UOB as a Technology Governance & Assurance professional, where they reviewed existing systems and processes against security standards and prioritized remediation plans.

From 2017 to 2020, Seng Hock worked at Star Cruises as a Senior Manager, drafting IT security policies and procedures.

Seng Hock'smost recent role was as a Manager at Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad, where they reviewed change management and service requests, ensuring proper documentation and approval for implementation.

Throughout their career, Seng Hock has gained extensive experience in IT security, database administration, audit, and governance, demonstrating their versatility and commitment to ensuring the efficient and secure operation of technology systems.

Seng Hock Lim has a diverse education history. Seng Hock obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Computing from The University of Winnipeg, studying from 1994 to 1997. Prior to that, they earned a Diploma in Business Computing from Sedaya College, Petaling Jaya, where they attended from 1992 to 1994. Seng Hock Lim completed their secondary education at Sekolah Menengah Maxwell, Kuala Lumpur, from 1987 to 1991, achieving SPM & SRP qualifications. Seng Hock had their primary education at Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Jalan Batu, Kuala Lumpur, from 1981 to 1987.

Apart from their formal education, Seng Hock Lim has also obtained several certifications. In 2016, they acquired certifications in Managing Small Projects, Practical Project Management for Creative Projects, and Project Management Simplified from LinkedIn.
