David Segura

David Segura has a diverse work experience in the field of network monitoring and engineering. David started their career at SBG Global as a Technical Support Agent, where they provided customer support and monitored accounts for the internet casino portion of the global Sportsbook. Later, they worked as a Sales Lead Generator at Vialinx SA, where they generated sales leads through cold calling and developed communication and customer service skills.

In 2009, David joined Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Senior Technical Consultant, where they gained extensive experience in technical consulting. David then moved on to Eliassen Group as an NNMi and ArcSight Logger Administrator, where they automated maintenance functions and backups, modernized monitoring techniques, and implemented PKCS authentication and ArcSight logger environment.

David continued their career at Bank of America as a Network Monitoring Engineer, where they received training in ITIL processes and became a Change Coordinator. David upgraded, maintained, and patched the Global Network Management NNMi environment and implemented automation for automatic backups. David also created new monitors using BASH scripting and worked with Capacity Management to design reports and dashboards.

Subsequently, David joined Micro Focus as a SWAT Engineer, specializing in NNMi and NPS. David then transitioned to Syniverse as an ASE Ops Support Engineer, responsible for network monitoring, configuration management, and automation. David administered, patched, and deployed/configured MF NNMi, NPS, and CA Performance Center, and conducted Disaster Recovery tests.

David returned to Micro Focus as a Premium Support Engineer, providing high-level support for customers. Currently, they work at SyllogisTeks as a Network Monitoring Engineer.

David Segura earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Computer Engineering Technology/Technician from Western Piedmont Community College, where they studied from 2007 to 2009. In addition to their degree, David has obtained several certifications throughout their career. David became a Network Automation 2020.x Certified Professional from Micro Focus in October 2021 and achieved the NNMi Certified Expert certification from the same institution in August 2021. Furthermore, David holds a TSIA Certified Support Professional certification from TSIA, which they obtained in August 2012.
