Ivan Rattray, Ph.D., has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Ivan began their career as a Medical Laboratory Assistant at NHS North West London in 2004 before transitioning to academic research. Ivan worked as a PhD student at The University of Nottingham from 2006 to 2010, focusing on their studies. Ivan then joined the Institute of Psychiatry as a Postdoctoral Researcher in 2009, where they conducted extensive research until 2013.

In 2013, Ivan moved to King's College London as a Research Associate, conducting research projects until 2015.
