Alexandru Bălan

Alexandru Bălan has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning, software development, and team leadership.

Starting in 2016, they worked as a Junior Java Developer at UniCredit Business Integrated Solutions.

From 2017 to 2019, they joined G2G Online B.V. as a Software Developer, where they were responsible for building an in-house Data Warehousing solution and maintaining existing micro-services. In 2019, they transitioned to the role of Development Team Lead / Data Scientist, leading an on-premise team and an additional remote team in project coordination and architectural planning.

In 2020, Alexandru joined ML6 as a Machine Learning Engineer, later promoted to Senior Machine Learning Engineer. Alexandru successfully accelerated businesses through AI by designing and implementing custom Machine Learning solutions, with a focus on NLP, tabular data, and Machine Learning in production.

In 2022, they moved to Mollie as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, contributing to advanced machine learning projects until 2023.

Currently, Alexandru is employed at Synthesia as the Technical Lead for the ML Platform, utilizing their expertise in machine learning and leadership to guide the development and implementation of the platform.

Alexandru Bălan completed a Master of Science in Computer Science with a specialization in Data Science at Delft University of Technology from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, where they studied from 2013 to 2017.
