Robert Calderwood, Jr. has a diverse work experience spanning over 25 years. Robert currently serves as the Vice President of Total Reward & HRIS at Synthomer since April 2020, where they lead the Global Total Rewards & HRIS HR team and is responsible for compensation, benefits, HRIS, Global Mobility, Mergers & Acquisitions, and corporate policy activities.

Prior to Synthomer, Calderwood worked at OMNOVA Solutions, starting in 2017 as the Global HR Director, leading the Employee Services HR team and overseeing global compensation, benefits, HRIS, and corporate communications activities. In 2019, they were promoted to VP of Human Resources, where they directed the Employee Services HR team and served as the HR Business Partner for various client groups, including Finance and Accounting, Information Technology, Safety, Health, Environment, and Security, and Legal.

Before OMNOVA Solutions, Calderwood had experience at Arconic as an HR Manager from 2016 to 2017 and at Alcoa as an HR Manager from 2015 to 2016. At both companies, they played a pivotal role in providing HR leadership and support for various departments, including labor relations, talent management, organizational development, and employee engagement.

Calderwood's earlier career included roles at The Lubrizol Corporation as a Global HR Business Partner and Global Compensation Manager, as well as at Jackson National Life as a Compensation Manager. Robert also gained valuable experience at KeyBank, where they served as a Vice President of Compensation, Senior Compensation Analyst, and Compensation Analyst.

Throughout their career, Calderwood has demonstrated expertise in total compensation design, financial and statistical analysis, workforce planning, employee relations, and organizational development. Their extensive experience in HR leadership positions in various industries showcases their versatility and ability to drive organizational success.

Robert Calderwood, Jr. graduated from Rockland District High School in 1989. Robert then attended Bryant University from 1989 to 1993, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. In 1999, they pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Business Administration and Systems Management from Baldwin Wallace University, which they completed in 2001. Additionally, they obtained several certifications including SHRM Senior Certified Professional in 2015, Global Professional in Human Resources in 2013, Global Renumeration Professional in 2007, and Certified Compensation Professional in 2002.
