Derek Chen

Derek Chen is a dedicated leader in global health and youth empowerment, currently serving as Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Statice Health International, where efforts focus on enhancing global health equity through mobilizing youth across 115 countries. In addition to this role, Derek is actively involved as a Civil Society Representative at the United Nations, addressing youth concerns at various conferences, and contributes to the International Youth Conference as a member of the organizing team. Derek also serves as a Junior Volunteer Firefighter and Emergency Medical Technician with the Syosset Volunteer Fire Department, having received sponsorship for EMT training. Further commitments include participation as a Civic Innovator Fellow at Civics Unplugged and serving as Delegation Leader for the AFS Youth Assembly. Derek's research experience includes a mentorship under Professor Oskar Pineno at Hofstra University, where a project combined psychological concepts with technology. Currently, Derek is completing studies at Syosset High School.
