David J. Fischer

Executive Director at Tacoma Arts Live

David J. Fischer is the current Executive Director at Tacoma Arts Live. Prior to this, they were the Executive Director at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts where they led one of California's largest performing arts centers through significant growth. David added $14 million in net assets during their tenure, doubled audience attendance, and led a successful re-branding strategy. David also rebuilt the staff and board, and led a successful real estate deal that leveraged 15 acres with a new health care partner.

Before Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, David was the Deputy Executive Director at Broadway Center for the Performing Arts. There, they directed marketing, fund raising, and family/education programs, as well as partnered on Board and HR management.

Prior to Broadway Center for the Performing Arts, David was the Arts Manager at Pierce County Government. There, they managed the County Arts Commission which included grant administration, educational residencies, festival management, public art program, and policy liaison and development.

Before working in government, David was the Producing Artistic Director at Tacoma Little Theater. And before that, they were the Studio Coordinator at Office of Lawrance Halprin.

David J. Fischer has a certificate from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, a Masters of Fine Arts from San Francisco State University, and a BA from the University at Albany, SUNY.
