Job description

Position Purpose

An integrator, is tasked with making multiple elements work together as one cohesive system. A key technical role, an integrator also has essential responsibilities in project coordination, especially focused on project sites around the world. As the final step in the project process, integration is key to high-quality delivery before system handover to the client. An integrator exists on the uniquely TAIT line between technology and art, helping to create the best shows and spectacles in the world.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of realistic estimates to support the development and management of projects 

• Incorporating feedback from all teams so they can deliver projects within a given budget 

• Build a database of past project costs and forecasting tools to inform future bids 

• Work closely with Project Management, Design, Finance, Procurement and Production Control on estimates, production estimates (PE), etc. 

• Engage Fabrication, Machine and Integration in the estimating process when applicable 

• Navigate Epicor to pull various data for estimation comparisons and TAIT personnel   

• Walk the Fabrication floor regularly to watch progress and learn habits and patterns of various elements during production 

• Ability to sensibly produce estimates with appropriate fidelity depending on the requirement and the time available (Nuclear, ROM, Preliminary Estimate, and Bid Estimate) 

• Adaptability and flexibility collating and presenting data dependent on bid requirements 

• Creative aptitude with a solid understanding of construction techniques and materials 

• Support other project tasks as assigned, for example Cost to Complete (CTC) 

• Collaborate effectively and efficiently with all members of the Estimating team 

• Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. 

• Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required. 

• Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.

Minimum Qualifications
To perform the essential responsibilities, individuals must have the following level of education and experience, or equivalent combination. Additionally, the following certifications, knowledge, skills, or physical requirements are necessary for the position. 

    • Formal Technical Background
    • Theater/Entertainment Experience
    • Strong written skills
    • Ability to Travel & Work in “Entertainment Conditions”
    • Willingness to travel on average 100 days per year, project dependent

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to frequently walk, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, stoop, and kneel each day. Specific requirements are:

    • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
    • Must be able to lift or move 70 lbs. with or without assistance.
    • Must be able to pull or push 140 lbs.

Work conditions of the role are:
    • Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
    • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions
    • Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, steel toed shoes, and other PPE as required by the location
    • Ability to work in “entertainment conditions” including a wide variety of working places such as shops, backstage, catwalks at height, construction areas, theme parks, and cruise ships.
