Alex Brammer

Alex Brammer, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Currently, they serve as the Sr. Director of Digital Strategy and Asset Optimization at Talen Energy, where they oversee IT/OT network design, infrastructure, instrumentation and controls systems, and data center operations. Alex is also a corporate strategist researching innovation in electricity generation methods and co-located loads to improve power reliability and grid stability while promoting decarbonization.

In addition, Brammer is the Director and Treasurer of the Bitcoin Today Coalition, advocating for the fair treatment of bitcoin in taxation, reporting, and privacy to benefit the American economy. Alex previously held the position of Vice President of Business Development at Luxor Tech.

Before transitioning to corporate roles, Brammer had a distinguished career in the US Army. Alex served as a Director of Operations (Company Commander), a Senior Operations Analyst (Brigade Chief of Plans), an Operations Manager (Platoon Leader), and a Personnel Manager (Army Ranger) in the Army Special Operations Command, 75th Ranger Regiment. In these roles, they demonstrated exceptional leadership and performance, achieving significant improvements in deployability, training, and equipment operational status.

Brammer's educational background includes being a graduate student and a West Point Cadet at the United States Military Academy. Alex graduated top 1% of their class with a major in Economics and concentration in Policy, while also receiving the prestigious Marshall Scholarship to study in the UK. Alex has completed coursework in various economic disciplines.

Additionally, Brammer has worked as a Strategy Consultant and Talent Recruiter at Resupply, providing strategic counsel to a start-up and recruiting talent. Alex has also been involved with the Association of Marshall Scholars as a Marshall Scholar, representing the top-ranked scholar in the New York Region.

Alex Brammer, PhD has a strong education background. In 2010, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Economics from the United States Military Academy at West Point. After that, they pursued further studies and earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Conflict, Security & Development from King's College London in 2015. Alex then went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Politics with a focus on Political Legitimacy and Strategic Analysis from Queen's University Belfast in 2019. In 2023, Alex Brammer enrolled in The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, specializing in Business Administration and Management, General in 2025. Additionally, they have completed various certifications, including "AI for Everyone" from Coursera in 2021 and qualifications from the US Army in areas such as Emergency Medical Technician, Basic, Senior Rated Jumpmaster, Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape - Level C, and Ranger School.
