Neal McHugh has over 30 years of experience in environmental, health, safety, and security (EHS&S) management. Neal has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

In their most recent position as the Director of Operations, Environmental Liability Management at Talen Energy, they oversee environmental risks and compliance.

Prior to that, they served as the Director of Environmental, Health, Safety & Security at IMTT, where they managed a staff of employees, consultants, and contractors, ensuring safety and environmental compliance in petrochemical operations.

McHugh also worked at Buckeye Partners as the HSSE Program Manager, responsible for identifying and addressing risks and requirements for construction projects, permits, and regulatory plans, to deliver safe and compliant assets.

Before joining Buckeye Partners, they were a Senior Analyst at Hess Corporation, where they provided oversight for 20 Hess Terminals, directed regulatory activities, and managed marine and land use permitting.

Additionally, they worked at Kinder Morgan, Inc. as the Northeast Region Manager for EHS&S, responsible for compliance with environmental regulations and OSHA programs. Neal also served as the National Environmental Remediation Program Manager for the company.

Earlier in their career, McHugh held positions at GATX, Brinkerhoff Environmental Services, Handex, Groundwater & Environmental Services, and Van Note-Harvey Associates, gaining experience in project management, remediation, permitting, and groundwater investigations.

Neal McHugh has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Earth & Environmental Science from Wilkes University. Neal also holds an Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree in Aviation Flight Technology from Mercer County Community College. Additionally, they have completed courses in Hazardous Materials Management and Waste Technology/Technician from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, as well as The Groundwater Pollution & Hydrology Course and The Remediation Course from Princeton Groundwater, Inc. In terms of certifications, Neal has obtained a 30-Hour OSHA Construction certification from the US DEPARTMENT OF LABOR OSHA, a 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification from the OSHA Safety Training Institute, and an FAA Commercial Pilots License/Instrument Rating from the Federal Aviation Administration, among others.
