During their time there from May 2022 to October 2022, they were responsible for tasks such as developing web scrapers, designing and managing the company's Data Warehouse, generating data extractions, managing cloud infrastructure, and developing backend code for the dashboard web application.

From 2019 to 2022, Vasco worked at BNP Paribas as a Team Leader for the Stress Testing Data Analytics (STDA) team in Lisbon. Vasco'srole involved managing a team of 10 members, ensuring timely delivery and data quality, process enhancements, control, governance, documentation, and presenting results. Vasco also served as a Data Scientist in the same organization, responsible for the development, maintenance, and testing of Big Data data marts, data quality control, data analysis, and coordination and support of stress-testing activities.

Prior to their work at BNP Paribas, Vasco served as a Data Scientist at Lisboa E-Nova, the energy and environment agency for the city of Lisbon. During their tenure from 2017 to 2019, they coordinated projects using advanced data analysis and reporting tools, developed decision-support systems using energy and sustainability data, and led the development of the Lisbon Energy Observatory.

In 2016, Vasco worked as an R&D Fellow at IN+ Center for Innovation, Technology, and Policy Research, and in 2015, they interned as a Quality Management Intern at BMW Group, where they coordinated engine rework projects and supported new engine derivatives launch projects.

Vasco also gained experience at Philip Morris International, where they worked as an R&D - Product Development intern in 2014, performing experimental tests and statistical analysis. Vasco also worked as a Production Analyst intern in 2012, focusing on logistics process improvement using the 5S methodology.

Throughout their career, Vasco has been proficient in various technologies and tools, including Python, R, Spark, SQL, Hadoop, Hive, JavaScript, Node.js, MySQL, Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, Git, JIRA, Selenium, RESTful APIs, R Shiny, R Markdown, and Dataiku DSS.

Vasco Brito E Abreu pursued their Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2010 to 2015 at the Instituto Superior Técnico. In 2014 and 2015, they took part in the Erasmus program at the University of Ljubljana, further specializing in Mechanical Engineering.
