Minh Duc Cao

Sr. Director, Head of Data Science at TandemAI

Minh Duc Cao has over 10 years of work experience in the field of data science and bioinformatics. Minh Duc began their career in 2010 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Monash University. In 2011, they moved to The University of Queensland as a Senior Research Officer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow. In 2017, they joined Quantum-Si, 4Catalyzer as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist. In 2019, they became Co-Founder of AMRomics and Principal Scientist/Director, Head of Machine Learning and Modeling at Gritstone bio. In this role, they were responsible for leading the machine learning team to design deep learning methodologies for personalized nonco-immunotherapies, overseeing the development of machine learning and computational biology methods to identify targets for cancer vaccines, devising strategies for data acquisition and machine learning development, designing methods and performing WGS/WES/transcriptomics/Single cell RNA-Seq data analyses, building cloud-based infrastructures for machine learning and bioinformatics applications, and leading the computational design of vaccines for cancer and infectious diseases. In 2022, they joined TandemAI as Sr. Director, Head of Data Science.

Minh Duc Cao obtained a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Computer Science/Bioinformatics from Monash University between 2006 and 2010.
