Please note this role is initially 6 month contract, based in London Bridge 3 days a week. 

The Role

In this multi-disciplined role, you will build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and leaders in the business, supporting line managers across the business on organisational structure and design. You will have the ability to effectively work with managers at all levels to analyse areas for business improvement and drive change across the business. 

You will need to be a hands-on solutions provider working closely with internal and external teams in order to identify requirements and deliver appropriate solutions. You must be self-motivated, able to coordinate multiple competing projects and have the tenacity and drive to meet and maintain high quality standards.  

Your Responsibilities

  • Coach leaders to deliver improved business performance through the engagement and wellbeing of their people. Confidently hold leaders to account on role modelling our values.

  • Work with the Head of HR and specialist HR teams to deliver and drive improvements in annual key people activity, as well as key projects.

  • Use regular balanced scorecard insight to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within assigned functions, ensure plans are in place to address them and look for simple solutions to continually improve.

  • Support the Head of HR in planning and implementing organisational changes by coaching and upskilling leaders to implement change, and working with specialist HR teams to ensure changes are embedded and sustained.

  • Support the delivery of key HR processes / cyclical activities (such as performance management and pay review) by working with HR COEs and business stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and compliance in the assigned business area.

  • Managing recruitment and headcount management throughout the business, including TUPE processes and harmonisation of T&C’s.

  • Building trusted relationships with senior managers and leaders in the business, across several UK sites to support them in delivering the business strategy.

Skills and Experience

  • Ability to quickly build strong relationships with senior business stakeholders and embed within business functions as a trusted partner.
  • Strong influencing skills, resilience, and the ability to apply sound professional judgement.
  • A confident coach and mentor, you will be adept at upskilling managers in people leadership.
  • Confident in delivering and embedding change in an organisation with a good understanding of the commercial impact of people initiatives.
  • Some experience working in partnership with financial teams regarding budget and headcount.
  • Happy to analyse and interpret data to inform decisions.

Education & Experience (Knowledge & Skills) 

  • Minimum of 3 years HR experience, including a minimum of one year working alongside management at all levels.
  • Hold an accredited chartered institute qualification such as the CIPD level 5 with demonstrable experience in a similar role.
  • Able to identify, quantify and effectively mitigate risks and issues, with the confidence to identify when escalation to the Head of HR may be required.

Essential 

  • Communication skills – delivering the strategies of the business will require you to talk to managers from around the business. As such, you will need to be able to present effectively to a different level of seniority.
  • General skills – The HR Business Partner will need to be a true generalist, with a good understanding of the many different responsibilities within the function.
  • Leadership – you will be working with line managers to deliver the function’s strategy. As such, you must be able to lead in the day-to-day operations of the business, and on specific projects.
  • Coaching skills – you will be seen as a mentor within the function and the business at large. You must be comfortable in offering advice to both your peers and employees.
  • Strategic thinker – working closely with the wider HR team to deliver and implement new programmes and initiatives. 
    • Industry knowledge – building a coherent and successful HR strategy will require an extensive knowledge of the trends and changes in policy that are affecting people at work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, communicating effectively at all levels. 
    • Proven relationship building skills with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively across all levels.
  • Is decisive and considers all the appropriate factors when deciding a course of action. Not afraid of dealing with conflict situations to achieve the best outcome.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook.
