Scott Smith, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CPSP has over 30 years of work experience in various HR and management roles. Scott started their career in the United States Air Force, where they served as an Accounting & Finance Technician and later as an Accounting & Finance Supervisor, managing payroll and financial management staff and systems.

After leaving the Air Force, Scott worked for the US Navy Reserve as a Purchasing Agent/Supply Specialist, where they reviewed and approved purchase requisitions, administered basic contracts, and evaluated bids and proposals from potential suppliers.

Scott then transitioned into the private sector, joining Hotel Information Systems as a Project Manager/Trainer. In this role, they managed accounting and property management system installations, upgrades, and conversions. Scott also trained hotel personnel and directed hotel management in developing policies and procedures, as well as conducted audits of resort and hotel operations.

In 2001, Scott joined Bissell Hotels as an Assistant Director of Human Resources. Over the course of their 11-year tenure, they managed the general operations of the HR department for four hotels, overseeing employee relations, recruiting, hiring, benefits, HRIS, leave administration, 401(k) administration, coaching, budgeting, reporting, and compliance. Scott also partnered with the leadership team to redesign orientation, customer service, and safety training programs, as well as developed a leadership training course.

Scott's most recent role was as the Director of Human Resources at Tax Management Associates, Inc. Scott joined the company in 2012 and is currently responsible for overseeing the HR department, although specific details about their responsibilities and achievements in this role were not provided.
