Hiram Martinez-Cabrera has a diverse work experience. Hiram is currently serving as the Managing Director of the Early Engagement Program Design at Teach For America since May 2022. Prior to this role, they were the Director of Undergraduate Engagement at the same organization from July 2020 to May 2022. Hiram also worked as a Recruitment Manager at Teach For America from August 2018 to July 2020.
Before joining Teach For America, Hiram served as a Corps Member from June 2016 to June 2018. Hiram also gained experience as a Teacher Policy Fellow at P.S. 305 from October 2017 to March 2018, where they conducted research and organized focus groups on LGBTQ-inclusive anti-discrimination policies.
In addition, Hiram worked as the Diversity, Culture and Development Coordinator at The Agency at UF from June 2015 to June 2016, where they organized professional development events and implemented diversity training programs.
Hiram's experience also includes roles as the Co-President of Pride Student Union, where they organized conferences and events to support LGBTQ+ issues, and as the Executive Director of Pride Awareness Month at the University of Florida.
Before their university involvement, Hiram gained retail experience as a Store Management Intern at Macy's, where they achieved significant sales results and developed tools to improve customer assistance.
Lastly, Hiram had a brief role as a Hope Fellow at the Democratic National Committee in August 2014.
Hiram Martinez-Cabrera obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida, where they studied from 2012 to 2016. In addition to their degree, they also obtained a certification as a Hootsuite Certified Professional from Hootsuite Media Inc. in November 2015.
