Seeking a professional early childhood educator for the following position working with preschoolers:

 HEAD TEACHER: Full-time, 40 hours/week - Waterbury

 Pay Rate:  $25.51/hour minimum with increase after 90 days

 Responsibilities:

Implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum; coordinating classroom activities, parent conferences & home visits; maintaining Head Start standards, NAEYC accreditation, & required state/federal documentation

  • Shared teaching responsibilities; classrooms staffed with three qualified educators.

  • Classroom behavioral health and special needs supported by multidisciplinary team including, Mental Health & Disability Manager, Family Support staff, and multiple contracted clinicians & field experts.

  • Family Support Specialist assigned to each classroom to partner in supporting family engagement and positive family interactions and outcomes. Health & Nutrition staff work directly with teachers and families to address and oversee child medical needs and the implementation of Individual Health Plans.

  • Ongoing professional development opportunities including regional & national conferences, in-service group seminars, 1:1 peer learning, and training support via the Practice-Based Coaching model.

  • Staff Recognition including annual agency day, multiple staff parties, and national appreciations.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with 12 credits in Early Childhood Education.   Two plus years experience in an early childhood classroom preferred.
