We're seeking an experienced Director of Business Development with a passion for the amateur sports tech market, innovative ideas, and a drive to expand business opportunities through strategic partnerships. In this role, you'll dive deep into the market landscape and needs, focusing on developing and nurturing strategic partnerships that will fuel TeamSnap’s growth and enhance our position in the industry. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, you will collaborate with leaders across marketing, product marketing, product, sales, advertising, and analytics to achieve accelerated growth objectives.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Partnership Development: Identify, rationalize, and prioritize strategic partners that are relevant and accretive to our business strategy. Develop business cases and execute strategies for engaging, negotiating, and securing partnerships that drive business growth and enhance our market position.

  • Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact for strategic partners, ensuring a positive and productive relationship. Regularly evaluate partnership performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats. Leverage insights to inform partnership strategy, product investments, and company direction.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Product, Product Marketing, Marketing, Sales, and Finance to ensure partnership alignment, implementation, and performance.

  • Contract Negotiation: Lead the negotiation of partnership commercial terms to ensure favorable conditions for our company. Oversee the drafting and finalization of agreements, in collaboration with legal counsel.

  • Performance Metrics: Track key metrics to measure the performance and develop revenue forecasts of strategic partnerships. Identify and propose investment recommendations for increased performance and opportunities.

  • BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics; an MBA is preferred.

  • 7+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, corporate strategy, or a related field, with a preference for backgrounds in eCommerce, advertising, media, or direct-to-consumer industries.

  • Proven track record of identifying, negotiating, and managing successful strategic partnerships.

  • Strong financial modeling skills, familiarity with Excel, and presentation capabilities.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strategic thinker with a knack for spotting opportunities for growth and innovation.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Experience in the amateur sports tech market or familiarity with TeamSnap is a strong plus.
