She graduated in Business Economics from the Bocconi University in Milan in 1994. She completed her first internship at Citibank in Milan in 1994.

Between August 1994 and May 1996 she acquired professional experience working with Goldman Sachs, initially at their New York headquarters, then in London in the Investment Banking and Mergers & Acquisitions divisions. Between July 1996 and March 1998 she worked in London with the Investment Banking Division of Deutsche Morgan Grenfell, where she was particularly active in the luxury goods sector. Between April 1998 and March 1999, she acquired professional experience at the London headquarters of Compass Partners International, Private Equity Division, later becoming the marketing area manager in charge of leverage buyout transactions - in the luxury goods sector in particular. In April 1999 she joined the Prada Group, Planning & New Business Development division, and also filled the position of IPO process coordinator until February 2002. After a short experience as the operations manager at Helmut Lang (Prada Group), she joined Gucci (Kering group) in January 2003, as Gucci President and CEO's assistant, holding this position until January 2005. From February 2005 until November 2008 she filled the position of Strategic Planning Director and Associated Worldwide Merchandising Director of Gucci. In November 2008 she joined Bottega Veneta (another Kering Group company), initially as the Worldwide Merchandising Director (until November 2010) and subsequently as the Worldwide Merchandising-Communication Director (from November 2010 until September 2013). In September 2013 she became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Yves Saint Laurent, and since October 2015 she has been a member of the Kering Group Executive Committee.
