What you’ll Do:

  • Lead the technical realization of Teckro's data strategy, leveraging your experience to influence the company's medium- and long-term data-related goals.
  • Apply data engineering theories, principles, and concepts to the Teckro data platform, effectively addressing data challenges.
  • Explore and implement strategies to effectively integrate GenAI and machine learning tools into our data platform, optimizing data processes and insights generation
  • Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines using AWS Glue, ensuring efficient and reliable data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Utilize AWS Athena to query and analyze large datasets stored in our data lake, enabling fast and cost-effective access to actionable insights.
  • Develop interactive embedded dashboards using AWS QuickSight to provide customers with actionable insights aimed at optimizing our product's role in facilitating clinical trials.
  • Monitor existing processing pipelines for errors, conduct root cause analysis, and implement solutions to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Identify opportunities to improve system process flow, cost-effectiveness, and technical efficiencies, driving continuous improvement in our data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their technical responsibilities.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering, contributing to the evolution of our data architecture and best practices.
  • Define, educate, and enforce standards for style, maintenance, and best practices within the Teckro data platform.
  • Ensure data compliance with internal, national, and international data regulations, such as GDPR.
  • Foster relationships across the organization to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.

The Ideal candidate will have: 

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering roles, with a proven track record of designing and implementing scalable data solutions.

  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Java.

  • Extensive experience working with AWS cloud services, including AWS Glue, Athena, and QuickSight.

  • Experience with Machine Learning and GenAI tools an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and services, particularly AWS

  • Solid understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.

  • Experience with big data technologies and frameworks such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is a plus.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Location and Travel:

  • Hybrid role - Dublin City Centre, Ireland, currently this is set to 2 days per week onsite.
  • Our Dublin City Centre offices are located less than 3 mins for Pearse St Dart Station and beside the Alex Hotel, making it accessible for all major transport.
