Job description

KWES-TV (NewsWest 9), the TEGNA station in Midland/Odessa, has a Commercial Producer opportunity for you! Produce, write, shoot, and edit commercials, promos, sales integrations, and marketing creative. Create text treatments and motion graphic animations. Use and maintain videography, lighting, and audio equipment. Attend sales and client meetings as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with sales team to develop creative that helps clients achieve their goals.
  • Produce, write, shoot, and edit commercials, sales integrations, and marketing creative.
  • Create text treatments and motion graphic animations.
  • Use and maintain videography, lighting, and audio equipment.
  • Attend sales and client meetings as needed.
  • Edit long-form programming specials and deliver for on-air playback.
  • Manage video/media files for current projects and archives.
  • Shoot live shots for a live lifestyle/sales integration show.
  • Support on-location TV and community events for sales and marketing.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by the Marketing Director

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience at a broadcast TV station OR at a corporate marketing / creative agency.
  • Creative writer who can turn concepts into compelling marketing copy.
  • Adept at shooting with camcorders and DSLRs and lighting talent and interviewees.
  • Sharp aesthetics for video editing, graphic design, and typography placement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Solid organization and time management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Manage, prioritize, and track multiple projects while still meeting deadlines.
  • Take initiative to get things done, sometimes with little or no direction or supervision.
  • Familiar with digital and social media marketing strategies.
  • Portfolio that shows demonstrated skills with writing, producing, video editing, and creating text treatments/motion animations.
  • Knowledge of Edius or Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and After Effects
  • Must be willing to work in Midland Texas. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours when needed, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
