Sierra Hampton is an experienced professional specializing in indigenous rights and social justice. Currently serving as an Indigenous Rights Research Assistant at the New Zealand Human Rights Commission since August 2017, Sierra conducted an independent evaluation of the UNDRIP 10th Anniversary Conference and drafted a strategic work plan for the New Zealand Independent Monitoring Mechanism on UNDRIP. Previous roles include Academic Lead Counselor for the Y-Scholars Program, where Sierra managed a socio-educational program for 200 students, and a Human Resources Intern at EBMUD, focusing on diversity and inclusion initiatives.
