Georgy Wood has extensive work experience in communications and engagement roles. Georgy is currently the Communications and Engagement Lead at the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman. Prior to this, they worked as the Coordinator External Communications at Darebin City Council and as a Communications and Engagement Project Manager at the Environment Protection Authority Victoria. Georgy also held positions as a Senior Communications Adviser at the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, a Communications Advisor for the Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, and a Communications Advisor for the Australian Skills Quality Authority. Georgy also has experience as a Stakeholder Engagement and Communications Advisor at the Country Fire Authority, a Communications Account Manager at Sustainability Victoria, and a Public Affairs Manager at EcoRecycle Victoria. Earlier in their career, Georgy worked as a Team Leader Strategy (Communications) at the Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
Georgy Wood obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Adelaide in 1994. From 2000 to 2002, Georgy pursued a Graduate Diploma in Communications with a focus on Journalism at the University of South Australia. Before attending university, Georgy completed their high school education at Blackwood High School in South Australia, ending in 1990.
