Lance Dieter

Lance Dieter has extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Lance is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Technical Operations - CMC Development and Manufacturing at Tessera Therapeutics since April 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Executive Director of Lentivirus CMC Development and Process Operations at Sana Biotechnology, Inc. from March 2021 to April 2022.

Before joining Sana Biotechnology, Inc., Lance was the Vice President and Head of Manufacturing and CMC Development at enGene from January 2020 to March 2021. Their responsibilities included leading the company's first IND for non-muscle invasive bladder cancer gene therapy, as well as overseeing quality assurance, process development, and process technology transfer.

From 2015 to 2020, Lance worked at Moderna, where they held several roles, including Director of Process Development, Director of GMP Manufacturing, and Associate Director of Technology Transfer and GMP Manufacturing. At Moderna, they were responsible for process scale-up, manufacturing process technology transfer, and equipment procurement.

Prior to Moderna, Lance worked at Merck from 1996 to 2015, where they held various positions such as Associate Principal Scientist, Senior Research Biochemist, Research Biochemist, Staff Biochemist, and Biochemist. Their responsibilities at Merck included leading purification development teams, coordinating project CMC activities, and overseeing process validation and manufacturing activities.

Before entering the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, Lance worked as an Associate Scientist at ActiMed Laboratories and a Manufacturing Technician at Pfizer. Lance also worked as a freelance translator.

Overall, Lance Dieter has a wealth of experience in technical operations, CMC development, process operations, and manufacturing in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.

Lance Dieter received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biochemistry from Lebanon Valley College between 1988 and 1993.
