Helen Lowman

Helen Lowman, PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience. Helen is currently a Director at the Center for Research, Public Policy, and Training at Texas State University, where they also serve as a Lecturer. Previously, they worked as a Senior Advisor at Peace Corps. From 2017 to 2022, they were the President & CEO of Keep America Beautiful, where they oversaw all activities and operations of the organization, focusing on strategic planning, fundraising, and public relations. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Executive in the Obama Administration and as Director-Individual and Community Preparedness at FEMA. Helen also held various roles at Peace Corps, including Associate Director-Volunteer Recruitment and Selection and Regional Director/Europe, Mediterranean, and Asia. Earlier in their career, they worked at AFS-USA, Inc. as the Vice President of Intercultural Education and Quality. Their work experience also includes positions at Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Biotechna Environmental Ltd. Overall, Lowman's experience spans leadership, strategic planning, program management, and education across various sectors.

Helen Lowman, PhD has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Leadership and Change from the Graduate School of Leadership and Change at Antioch University. Helen also holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Leadership and Change from the same institution. Additionally, they have a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Economics and Development from the University of Denver - Josef Korbel School of International Studies. Helen earned their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Studies/Spanish from Austin College. As part of their undergraduate education, they participated in a Junior Year Abroad program at the University of Madrid - Institute of European Studies.
