Joseph Heppert has extensive experience in academia and professional organizations, currently serving as a member of the University Advisory Committee for the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas since January 2020. Heppert's longstanding involvement with the American Chemical Society began in 2011, including roles such as Trustee of the ACS Member Insurance Program and chair of the Committee on Budget and Finance. At Texas Tech University, Heppert has held the position of Vice President for Research and Innovation since August 2017. Additionally, Heppert has been at the University of Kansas since 1985 in various capacities, including Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Professor of Chemistry. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a postdoctoral associate position in Inorganic Chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington, along with a BS in Chemistry from San Jose State University.
