Hunter Brown

Hunter Brown has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of maritime defense and security. Hunter is currently the Vice President of Product Development at ThayerMahan, Inc., where they are responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of the company's product portfolio. In this role, they oversee the development of cutting-edge solutions that enhance maritime defense capabilities and supports cross-functional teams throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Prior to their current position, Hunter served as the Chief Scientist at MITRE from 2021 to 2023. At MITRE, they brought their scientific expertise to drive innovative solutions in the field. Before that, they held various roles at L3Harris Technologies, including Sr. Scientist in Unmanned Maritime Systems, Sr. Principal Corporate Strategist, Lead Ocean Engineer, and Ocean Engineer. During their time at L3Harris Technologies, Hunter played a key role in developing and implementing unmanned maritime systems and contributed to the company's strategic planning.

Hunter's career began at the University of Delaware, where they held positions as the Autonomous Underwater Systems Operations Manager and Lead Engineer. In these roles, they managed operations and led engineering efforts related to autonomous underwater systems. Prior to that, they worked as an Ocean Engineer at the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, where they gained valuable experience in the field.

Hunter Brown has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Ocean Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology. Hunter also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Applied Mathematics from North Carolina State University. In addition, they have pursued studies in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at the University of Michigan.
