Christopher Dinsmore has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Christopher began their career as a reporter at The Business Journal in Charlotte, N.C. in 1991. Christopher then joined The Virginian-Pilot in 1993, initially as a business writer and later as the assistant business editor. During their time there, they managed a team of eight, created a weekly personal technology section called Tech Talk, and led a team that rewrote the newspaper's anonymous sources policy. In 2008, they became the Business Editor at The Virginian-Pilot, where they managed a staff of six and oversaw the transition from a daily Business section to a single page, as well as a more robust Sunday Business section and online report. From 1998 to 2006, they served as the director at the Hope House Foundation. Currently, they work as the Director of Content for News and Development at The Baltimore Sun, a role they have held since September 2021.

Christopher Dinsmore completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Anthropology from the University of Virginia, where they studied from 1985 to 1989. Following this, they pursued further education at Northwestern University from 1990 to 1991, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Journalism. Christopher also obtained a Master of Science in Journalism (MSJ) from Northwestern University during the same time period.
