A/Prof Ashwin Subramaniam

A/Prof Ashwin Subramaniam has a diverse work experience in the field of healthcare. A/Prof Ashwin currently serves as the Director of Intensive Care Unit at The Bays Healthcare Group Inc since March 2018. A/Prof Ashwin is also a member of the Medical Advisory Committee at the same organization since October 2017. Previously, they worked at Peninsula Health where they held multiple roles including Consultant Intensivist, General Physician, Director of Acute Admission & Assessment Unit, and ICU Fellow. A/Prof Ashwin was also a Consultant Intensivist at Epworth HealthCare and Peninsula Private Hospital. In addition, they served as the Convener at Critical STEPS and Peri-Operative Physician at Peninsula Internal Medicine, Mornington Peninsula. A/Prof Ashwin has contributed to the field of education as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at Monash University and as the Chair of VICEN (Victorian Intensive Care Education Network). A/Prof Ashwin gained experience as a Locum Intensivist at Latrobe Regional Hospital and as a Senior ICU Registrar at Alfred Health.

A/Prof Ashwin Subramaniam completed their MBBS degree at Madras Medical College from 1993 to 1998. A/Prof Ashwin then went on to study at the University of Melbourne from 2003 to 2005, where they obtained a Master of Medicine degree with a specialization in Nutrition in ICU patients. Subramaniam further pursued their education and became a member of both the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand in 2013, earning the FCICM qualification, and The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in the same year, earning the FRACP qualification.
