Samantha Reiser

Staff Attorney, Criminal Defense Practice at The Bronx Defenders

Samantha Reiser (she/her/hers) graduated cum laude from New York University School of Law, where she was a Dean’s Scholar and an Arthur Garfield Hays Fellow. While in law school, she was a student advocate in the Global Justice Clinic, as well as a legal intern with the Legal Action Center and the Neighborhood Defender Service of Harlem. Samantha spent her law school summers interning with the ACLU’s Criminal Law Reform Project and the Capital Appeals Project. Prior to joining The Bronx Defenders, she was a Skadden Fellow and then Staff Attorney at the Legal Action Center, where she advocated for individuals facing discrimination because of their arrest and conviction histories, and worked on a campaign to automatically seal New York conviction records. Most recently, she clerked for the Honorable Allyne R. Ross of the Eastern District of New York. Before attending law school, Samantha worked in the US Program of Human Rights Watch. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University.
