Batool Almarzouq

Certified Carpentries Instructor at The Carpentries

Batool Almarzouq currently serves as part of the AI for Multiple Long-term Conditions Research Support Facility at The Alan Turing Institute, a collaboration aimed at developing data standards and fostering community engagement in AI research. Batool is also an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool and has played a pivotal role as Founder and Community Lead of the Open Science Community Saudi Arabia. As a member of the ISCB Academy Education Committee, Batool contributes to organizing educational tutorials, while also being a Certified Carpentries Instructor and a Co-organiser of the useR! Conference. Batool founded R-Ladies Dammam in Saudi Arabia and engages with the R Weekly team. Previous research experience includes a postdoctoral position at King Abdullah International Medical Research Center focused on metagenomics and drug discovery, alongside serving as a Content Subject Matter Expert for NASA's TOPS. Batool holds a Ph.D. in Oncology and Cancer Biology, a Master’s in Biomedical Sciences and Translational Medicine, and has completed a Bachelor’s degree, all from the University of Liverpool.
