Alvenia began their career at UPS as a Sr. Marketing Communications Consultant, where they were quickly offered a permanent position after only 2 months. Alvenia then went on to work as the Director, Business Communications and Brand Marketing, Global Technology Brands at Newell Brands. In this role, they were responsible for developing targeted communications and creative assets.

In January 2011, they joined DuPont as the Corporate Leader, Brand Management, Protection and Licensing. In this role, they were tasked with setting the global brand strategy and growing the financial contribution of the brand portfolio. Alvenia generated incremental revenues of $5M through brand licensing and led the creation of the global Dare Bigger(tm) campaign which relaunched the Kevlar(r) brand and generated new business through an innovative partnership with the X-Games(r).

In June 2015, they left DuPont to join Chemours as the SVP, Corporate Communications & Chief Brand Officer. In this role, they are responsible for leading Chemours' brand strategy and driving growth through marketing communications.

Alvenia Scarborough has a BA from the University of Virginia in Communications with a Spanish minor. Alvenia then went on to get their MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business. After working for some time, they decided to further their education by completing an executive program in business administration and management at The Wharton School.
