The Children’s Home of Reading (CHOR) has evolved into a multi-faceted social service nonprofit offering over 45 specialized mental health, trauma-focused residential, educational, and community-based programs to help over 3,300 at-risk children and their families each year.

Today, the services provided are trauma focused and treatment-oriented because the children who pass through our doors face serious barriers to success. They come to us with serious mental health, behavioral challenges, and educational needs.
They come to us abused, neglected, and afraid. They come to us without hope. While some have loving families that just don’t know how to help their children get through these difficult days, many of them have not experienced childhood in the way that most of us do.
