Deborah Hakes

Deborah Hakes leads communications strategy at the Georgia Public Library Service to build awareness through marketing campaigns, storytelling, advocacy, earned media, underwriting, and more.

As part of the University System of Georgia, Hakes helps build capacity for libraries throughout Georgia to better market themselves by providing counsel, training, and tools for local use. Hakes also helps strengthen community partnerships to reach broader audiences and create more inclusive communications.
