The Deep
Katy Duke has a range of experience in the marine industry, starting as a Presenter/Aquarist/Senior Aquarist at Deep Sea World from 1995 to 2001. Katy then joined The Deep in 2001 as a Senior Aquarist. Over time, they progressed to become Assistant Curator in 2004 and later took on the role of Curator in 2008. Most recently, they have been serving as CEO at The Deep since May 2017.
Katy Duke completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Applied Marine Biology from Heriot-Watt University from 1995 to 1999.

The Deep
The Deep, one of the most spectacular aquariums in the world is located in Hull, East Yorkshire. This award-winning visitor attraction is home to spectacular sharks, rays, turtles and a colony of Gentoo penguins. The dramatic building overlooks the Humber estuary and is only a few minutes’ walk from the Museums Quarter and Hull Marina. It offers a unique blend of stunning marine life, interactive and audio-visual presentations which together tell the dramatic story of the world’s oceans. Daily highlights include dive presentations and animal feeding, discovery corner sessions where you can get up close with crabs, urchins and starfish, a walk through our underwater tunnel, completing your journey with a ride in our glass lift through our huge 10m Endless Oceans tank.
