Akash Vyas

Assistant Chief Counsel at U.S. Department of Homeland Security

Akash Vyas has extensive legal experience as an Assistant State's Attorney at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office since May 2005, specializing in various areas such as the Special Prosecutions Bureau, Felony Trial Division, Grand Jury Unit, and Criminal Appeals. Prior to this role, Akash served as a Law Clerk at The Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County for a few months in 2004 and as a Case Auditor. Akash holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, obtained between 2004 and 2007, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business/Management from Purdue University, completed in 2004. Educational background includes attending William Fremd High School from 1996 to 2000.
