John Fabricius

Digital Campaigner at The Dream Corps

John A. Fabricius is a Digital Campaigner at Dream.org JUSTICE. John has been directly impacted by the criminal legal system as both a family member of an incarcerated person and as an incarcerated person himself having served 15 years in Arizona State Prisons. He graduated from The Paralegal Institute in 2008 and earned an associate degree from Rio Salado College in 2019 with a focus on government and political science. He also has an extensive history working in information technology & digital roles. After earning a degree in paralegal studies, John began assisting fellow incarcerated men with post-conviction relief, habeas corpus, civil rights, family law, and civil matters. Accordingly, John brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and understanding of the inner workings of the criminal legal and carceral systems. Additionally, John served as the Executive Director of Arizonans for Transparency and Accountability in Corrections (ATAC), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to creating comprehensive, independent oversight of the Arizona Department of Corrections. In his role with ATAC, John has worked with lawmakers, organizations, directly impacted individuals, and unlikely allies of every political affiliation in an effort to pass legislation to create independent, external oversight of one of the most punitive and draconian prison systems in the country.
