Clare Argar

Director Of UK Strategic Programmes & Development at The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Clare Argar has worked as the Director of UK Strategic Programs & Development at The Duke of Edinburgh's Award since July 2018. Clare initially joined the company as an Operational Director leading the London team and later took on the added responsibilities of the Strategic Programs & Development Directorate in 2022. Clare has played a key role in the development of the current 5-year strategy, Youth Without Limits, and has been successful in fundraising efforts. Prior to their role at The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Clare served as the Head of Community Campaigns & Programs at the National Literacy Trust from 2014 to 2018.

Clare Argar holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge, which they completed in 2003. Clare also has a Bachelor of Arts (BA Hons) degree in History from Durham University, obtained in the years 1999 to 2002. Currently, Clare is pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, expected to be completed between 2021 and 2025. In addition to their educational qualifications, Clare has obtained certifications in Lowland Leader from Mountain Training in 2021, Diploma in Fundraising (Merit) - MInstF(Dip) from the Institute of Fundraising in 2018, and AgilePM Foundation & Practitioner from APMG International in 2017.
