Frank Verdonck is currently the Head of Unit Biological Hazards & Animal Health and Welfare at the European Food Safety Authority. Frank has experience in scientific research and risk assessment related to animal health, animal welfare, and food safety. Prior to their current role, Frank has held various positions in different organizations such as the University of Milan, Ablynx, and Ghent University, where Frank focused on immunology, cell biology, and molecular mechanisms. Verdonck holds a PhD in Biotechnology-Veterinary Medicine and has a background in biology and toxicology.
