Ian Farran has worked in a variety of roles since 2017. From 2017-2022, they worked as a Peer Mentor at UC Davis Chemistry, Metal C-peptide Structure and Function Research at Marie Heffern, a Teaching Assistant at Woodland High School, a Poster Presentation at 2018 American Chemical Society, Western Regional Meeting at Heffern Lab, a Poster Presentation at URC Conference at Heffern Lab, a Quality Control Analyst 2 at MilliporeSigma, a Chemist at APPLIED Adhesives, and an Analytical Chemistry Research Associate l at The EVERY Co. During their time at MilliporeSigma, Ian was responsible for quality control for cancer testing products and quality of control slides for staining with their products, as well as running Elisa and IHC experiments to determine the effectiveness and quality of the product being sold to research and hospitals. At APPLIED Adhesives, Ian developed new formulations of adhesives for a variety of differing applications and developed SOP plans for experiments and worked in a team towards ISO certification for their factory. At The EVERY Co., they ran BCA/Bradford assays to determine total protein concentrations of their fermentation products, ran HPLC on their fermentation products to determine purity and total protein concentrations of product, and ran SDS-PAGE Gels on fermentation products to determine protein composition as well as impurities during fermentation.

Ian Farran attended the University of California, Davis from 2015 to 2019, where they studied Bio Chemistry and Molecualr Biology.
