Ronel Venter

Ronel Venter has extensive work experience in senior marketing leadership roles. Currently, they serve as the Vice President of Group Marketing & Communications at The First Group, where they lead the development and execution of omnichannel marketing strategies across various business units. Prior to this, they were the Director of Digital & Group Marketing for the same company, where they successfully managed marketing, brand, communication, and digital transformation efforts.

Before joining The First Group, Ronel founded and served as CEO of My Goods Suppliers, a company they started in 2009. Ronel also worked at Sun International as the Group Head of Digital & Digital Marketing for nine years, overseeing the digital strategy, online sales, customer experiences, and customer data platform implementation. Ronel managed digital marketing, content marketing, and social media management for the company's resorts, hotels, casinos, entertainment arenas, restaurants, and retail outlets.

Additionally, Ronel was a Digital & Marketing Consultant at Hospitality Board Holding Co., where they provided leadership, marketing strategy, and digital marketing expertise. Ronel recruited and trained digital marketing professionals, restructured the marketing department, and managed various digital and marketing operations.

Earlier in their career, Ronel held the position of Head of Digital Marketing - Europe at Hudson, where they focused on digital marketing strategies, resource planning, project management, and web development. Ronel also served as a Web Team Leader and a Web Developer at Hudson. Prior to that, they worked at TMP Worldwide as a Web Developer and Project Manager.

Ronel's career began at H. W. GROUP LTD. as a System Administrator/Analyst. Overall, they have gained extensive experience in marketing, digital transformation, brand management, people management, web development, and project management throughout their career.

Ronel Venter obtained a Bachelor's degree in Sport Management from the University of Johannesburg, where they studied from 1995 to 1997. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications. These include certifications from Coursera, such as "Six Sigma and the Organization (Advanced)" and "Testing with Agile" in July 2018, "Managing an Agile Team" and "Running Product Design Sprints" in March 2018, and "Getting Started: Agile Meets Design Thinking" in February 2018. Ronel also holds certifications from "Financing & Profiting from Innovation for Corporate Entrepreneurs" and "Executive Data Science Specialization" from Coursera Course Certificates in June 2017 and November 2016, respectively. Other certifications include "UX-PM Level 1" from UX Alliance in April 2016, and "Managing Successful Programmes Advanced Practitioner," "PRINCE2," and "Managing Successful Programmes Foundation" from APM Group in November 2007, October 2007, and May 2007, respectively. Recently, in 2021, they obtained Google Ads certifications, including "Google Ads Measurement Certification," "Google Ads Display Certification," and "Google Ads Search Certification" in March and February.
