Claire Falconer

Head of Global Initiatives and Movement Building at The Freedom Fund

Claire Falconer has had a diverse range of work experience in the field of human trafficking and labor exploitation. Claire currently works at The Freedom Fund as the Head of Global Initiatives and Movement Building. Prior to this, they were a Senior Program Manager at the same organization.

Before joining The Freedom Fund, Claire worked as a freelance consultant, focusing on projects related to human trafficking and labor exploitation. Claire contributed to the ILO Regional Fair Migration Project in the Middle East, developing a toolkit to promote worker welfare in the construction sector. Claire also worked with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, where they developed a forced labor learning tool for human rights defenders.

Claire also served as the Legal Director at Focus on Labour Exploitation for five years. Claire has expertise in this area and has contributed significantly to the organization during their tenure.

In addition, Claire has worked as a consultant for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, specializing in human trafficking and labor exploitation. Claire also served as a Judicial and Prosecutorial Assistant at the Asia Regional Trafficking in Persons Project.

Early in their career, Claire gained legal experience as a Legal Officer at the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions. Claire also worked as a Judge's Associate at the Supreme Court of South Australia.

Claire Falconer completed their Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Human Rights from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2011-2012. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Adelaide in 2001-2005. Claire also holds a Bachelor of International Studies from the University of Adelaide, received in 2000-2002.
