Alistair Smyth

Alistair Smyth has a diverse work experience in the field of policy, research, and external affairs. Alistair is currently working as the Director of Policy & Research at the National Housing Federation since 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Director of External Affairs and Social Investment at The Guinness Partnership from 2017 to 2020, and before that, they held the position of Head of External Affairs from 2017 to 2020. Alistair also has experience working at Shared Intelligence as a Principal Consultant from 2013 to 2014 and as a Senior Consultant from 2007 to 2009. Alistair also worked at Solon Community Network as a Senior Consultant from 2012 to 2013 and at Peabody Trust as an Assistant Head of Neighbourhoods from 2011 to 2012 and as a Neighbourhood Manager from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, they were an Education Partnerships Manager at Cantilever Partnership from 2005 to 2007.

Alistair Smyth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from The University of Sheffield, which they obtained from 1998 to 2001. Alistair later pursued a Master of Science degree in Global Politics at Birkbeck, University of London from 2004 to 2006. In 2009 to 2010, they completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Social Research Methods from The Open University.
