Jennifer Boswell

Jennifer Boswell has a diverse work experience in the mental health field. Jennifer is currently working as the Director of Adult Mental Health at The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD since January 2023. Before that, they served as an Associate Professor and Chair at the University of St. Thomas (TX) from 2019 to January 2023. Prior to that, they worked as an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator at the University of Houston-Victoria from August 2013 to July 2019. Jennifer also gained experience as an Assistant Professor at Oakland University from August 2012 to August 2013. Additionally, Jennifer worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) at AchieveBalance.org from 2008 to 2012 and as an LPC Intern at MHMRA of Harris County from August 2007 to January 2011.

Jennifer Boswell has a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Sam Houston State University. Jennifer also holds a M.S. in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman's University and a B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in Counseling, from the University of North Texas. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications including being a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor and a Registered Play Therapist from the Association for Play Therapy. Jennifer is also a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a National Certified Counselor.
